How to bypass registration in registration protected forum thread

Usually forums consist of some kind of valuable information shared by many users over Internet .Forums are meant for open sharing of information to each other but sometimes some forums doesn't go with this Forum quality of open information sharing.They won’t allow us to view its thread without registration for this they make it password protected.This is not sure that you will found your desired information after that compulsory registration .This post will show you how to bypass the forum registration process and still read the forum thread.

Go to Google and type the search string and search it against the forum that requires registration . Example - your keyword site:theforumwebsite.com

You should then be looking at the results page with links to various forum threads from that forum. All you have to do is click on cache link below the search result instead of clicking on search result link itself. This will show you the cached version of the forum thread without the need for registration in the forum.

Actually most of the forums allow Google and other search engines to crawl through them freely but don’t allow people to browse without a registration. Meaning, only members can access the thread. When viewing cached version, you see the page that search engines crawlers captured without registration in the forum.

So now you are not required to go through that compulsory registration.Enjoy searching articles on forums without registration.

How to unlock orkut album lock

During the initial days of orkut every one can access the photo album of any user but a feature in December 07 was added which was supposed to let the user restrict view access to their orkut photo album.
Later this feature was then extended to the video and scrapbook options also. Though Orkut uses Microsoft's safe & secure technology but even tough it is not very hard to break this security feature.Our intention is not to spread weakness of orkut but as the movie antitrust says "Human knowledge belongs to the world."A simple javascript when typed on your FireFox browser displays all your photos in your album in a thumbnail sequence. Here is the trick.

This trick works only if you are using Mozilla Firefox and Greasemonkey extension/addon installed on your system, and may not work on Internet explorer.

1. Go to users profile whose album is locked and you want to unlock
2. Copy and paste the below mentioned javascript code on the address bar and hit enter

3. Wait for few second before the photos are displayed.Now this is done.

Definitely orkut guys will fix this security breach one day.So better give it a try before that happens and inform me when it stops working.

UPDATE:: This method is not working presently.

How to find out CD key & serial of installed softwares

If you are reinstalling a software then the whole process is usually painless but what if you found that neither you remember the serial /key nor you have it. This happens quite often and you’re faced with two options, buy another license or hope that you find/remember where it is.But i think you won't like any of them.

A good way of making sure that doesn’t happen to you, is to make a list of all the serials of your important software right now & make a back up like email them to yourself etc..But in case you have forgotten the key but software is still installed on your system then SoftKey Revealer [Download] is a free Windows application that will show you the serials and CD keys of software installed on your computer.

Though this is quite effective but not all Microsoft software are supported which means you won’t get the serials for every application you have installed.

Still, the program does what it says and gives you an option of saving your revealed serials to Microsoft Word. If you’re looking for a way to see CD keys of your installed games, the makers of SoftKey Revealer have a similar app for games called game key revealer that’s displayed on the product page.

How to see the IPs of user who view a .jpg on your site

This script allows php code to be run every time a certain jpg is loaded. The script below would log the IP that loaded image, the date, referrer, and useragent, but it could be edited to do loads of things. Strictly for educational purpose.

Just create a directory, put this php code into a file which is saved as a .jpg file. You need a real image, in my case called sig.jpg in the same directory, and a file called (in my case) siginfo22.txt - this must be chmod’d to 777. Obviously, file names etc can be different, but must also be changed in code below. Oh, and create a .htaccess, as shown at top of that code.

Here is the script:

create a .htaccess file containing the following two lines:

Options All -Indexes
ForceType application/x-httpd-php

the first one means if someone tries to view directory, they are not
shown it, the second allows the script to work

*/
header(”Content-type: image/jpeg”);
$ip = getenv(”REMOTE_ADDR”);
$date = date(”d”) . ” ” . date(”F”) .
” ” . date(”Y”);
$ref = getenv(’HTTP_REFERER’);
$ua = $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'];
$intofile = $ip . ” || ” . $date . ” || ” . $ref
. ” || ” . $ua . “
”;
$hfile = fopen(”siginfo22.txt”, “a”);
fwrite($hfile, $intofile);
fclose($hfile);
$BGImage = imagecreatefromjpeg(”sig.jpg”);
imagejpeg($BGImage);
imagedestroy($BGImage);

10 things to do when windows xp won't boot

So many times either because of some unknown reasons or due to some known activity if your windows xp enabled system is not able to boot then it is quite frustrating and during my early days of computing i usually preferred number 10 option to recover but now if i face booting problem i try to fix this problem by using these possible solution.

#1: Use Last Known Good Configuration

You can also try to boot the operating system with the Last Known Good Configuration feature. This feature will allow you to undo any changes that caused problems in the CurrentControlSet registry key, which defines hardware and driver settings. The Last Known Good Configuration feature replaces the contents of the CurrentControlSet registry key with a backup copy that was last used to successfully start up the operating system.

To use the Last Known Good Configuration feature, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Select the Last Known Good Configuration item from the menu and press [Enter].

#2: Use a Windows startup disk
One of the first things you should reach for when troubleshooting a Windows XP boot problem is a Windows startup disk. This floppy disk can come in handy.

To create a Windows startup disk, insert a floppy disk into the drive of a similarly configured, working Windows XP system, launch My Computer, right-click the floppy disk icon, and select the Format command from the context menu. When you see the Format dialog box, leave all the default settings as they are and click the Start button. Once the format operation is complete, close the Format dialog box to return to My Computer, double-click the drive C icon to access the root directory, and copy the following three files to the floppy disk:

After you create the Windows startup disk, insert it into the floppy drive on the afflicted system and press [Ctrl][Alt][Delete] to reboot the computer. When you boot from the Windows startup disk, the computer will bypass the active partition and boot files on the hard disk and attempt to start Windows XP normally.

#3: Use System Restore

Another tool that might be helpful when Windows XP won't boot is System Restore. System Restore runs in the background as a service and continually monitors system-critical components for changes. When it detects an impending change, System Restore immediately makes backup copies, called restore points, of these critical components before the change occurs. In addition, System Restore is configured by default to create restore points every 24 hours.

To use System Restore, first restart the computer by pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Delete]. When you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options menu. Now, select the Safe Mode item from the menu and press [Enter].

Once Windows XP boots into Safe mode, click the Start button, access the All Programs | Accessories | System Tools menu, and select System Restore. Because you're running in Safe mode, the only option on the opening screen of the System Restore wizard is Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time, and it's selected by default, so just click Next. Then, follow along with the wizard to select a restore point and begin the restoration procedure.

#4: Use Recovery Console

When a Windows XP boot problem is severe, you'll need to use a more drastic approach. The Windows XP CD is bootable and will provide you with access to a tool called Recovery Console.

To boot from the Windows XP CD, insert it into the CD-ROM drive on the problem system and press [Ctrl][Alt][Delete] to reboot the computer. Once the system begins booting from the CD, simply follow the prompts that will allow the loading of the basic files needed to run Setup. When you see the Welcome To Setup screen, press R to start the Recovery Console.

You'll then see a Recovery Console menu. It displays the folder containing the operating system's files and prompts you to choose the operating system you want to log on to. Just press the menu number on the keyboard, and you'll be prompted to enter the Administrator's password. You'll then find yourself at the main Recovery Console prompt.

#5: Restore from a backup

If you can't seem to repair a Windows XP system that won't boot and you have a recent backup, you can restore the system from the backup media. The method you use to restore the system will depend on what backup utility you used, so you'll need to follow the utility's instructions on how to perform a restore operation.

#6: Fix a corrupt partition boot sector

The partition boot sector is a small section of the hard disk partition that contains information about the operating system's file system (NTFS or FAT32), as well as a very small machine language program that is crucial in assisting the operating system as it loads.

If you suspect that Windows XP won't boot because the partition boot sector has been corrupted, you can use a special Recovery Console tool called Fixboot to fix it. Start by booting the system with the Windows XP CD and accessing the Recovery Console as described in #4.

To use the Fixboot tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type

Fixboot [drive]:

Where [drive] is the letter of the drive to which you want to write a new partition boot sector.

#7: Fix a corrupt master boot record

The master boot record occupies the first sector on the hard disk and is responsible for initiating the Windows boot procedure. The master boot record contains the partition table for the disk as well as a small program called the master boot code, which is responsible for locating the active, or bootable, partition, in the partition table. Once this occurs, the partition boot sector takes over and begins loading Windows. If the master boot record is corrupt, the partition boot sector can't do its job and Windows won't boot.

If you suspect Windows XP won't boot because the master boot record has been corrupted, you can use the Recovery Console tool Fixmbr to fix it. First, boot the system with the Windows XP CD and access the Recovery Console as described in #4.

To use the Fixmbr tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type

Fixmbr [device_name]

Where [device_name] is the device pathname of the drive to which you want to write a new master boot record. For example, the device pathname format for a standard bootable drive C configuration would look like this:

\Device\HardDisk0

#8: Disable automatic restart

When Windows XP encounters a fatal error, the default setting for handling such an error is to automatically reboot the system. If the error occurs while Windows XP is booting, the operating system will become stuck in a reboot cycle--rebooting over and over instead of starting up normally. In that case, you'll need to disable the option for automatically restarting on system failure.

When Windows XP begins to boot up and you see the message Please select the operating system to start or hear the single beep, press [F8] to display the Windows Advanced Options Menu. Then, select the Disable The Automatic Restart On System Failure item and press [Enter]. Now, Windows XP will hang up when it encounters the error and with any luck, it will display a stop message you can use to diagnose the problem.

#9: Fix a corrupt Boot.in

As the Windows XP operating system begins to load, the Ntldr program refers to the Boot.ini file to determine where the operating system files reside and which options to enable as the operating system continues to load. So if there's a problem rooted in the Boot.ini file, it can render Windows XP incapable of booting correctly.

If you suspect that Windows XP won't boot because Boot.ini has been corrupted, you can use the special Recovery Console version of the Bootcfg tool to fix it. Of course, you must first boot the system with the Windows XP CD and access the Recovery Console as described in #4.

To use the Bootcfg tool, from the Recovery Console command prompt, type

Bootcfg /parameter

Where /parameter is one of these required parameters

  • /Add--Scans the disk for all Windows installations and allows you to add any new ones to the Boot.ini file.
  • /Scan--Scans the disk for all Windows installations.
  • /List--Lists each entry in the Boot.ini file.
  • /Default--Sets the default operating system as the main boot entry.
  • /Rebuild--Completely re-creates the Boot.ini file. The user must confirm each step.
  • /Redirect--Allows the boot operation to be redirected to a specific port when using the Headless Administration feature. The Redirect parameter takes two parameters of its own, [Port Baudrate ] | [UseBiosSettings].
  • /Disableredirect--Disables the redirection.
#10:Install a fresh windows xp

sorry but if you have tried all the above mentioned methods then according to me this is last and only hope left you make your windows xp bootable.

How to keep USB drive safe when attached to virus infected computer system

I have faced this situation many many times.When i have to use my pen drive,which is already containing some important data that i can't afford to loose, on a shared computer system that is probably infected with viruses, i always found myself in a dilemma.If i use my USB drive on that virus infected computer system then that virus will be automatically transmitted to my pen drive also and then it might make my pen drive unreadable or data on pen drive might be lost etc. depending upon the virus activity.

But now i have found a solution for this situation.If i make my USB drive non writable then any kind of data can't be written to it,means if virus infected computer is going to transmit any virus to pen drive then it can't be written to it as USB drive is write protected.

ThumbScrew is a freeware that can be used to write-protect your USB drive so that malware or any kind of unwanted program or data from host computer doesn’t spread to your USB Drive. For using it download and launch the app, right click the System Tray icon and choose ‘Make USB Read Only’. Now nothing could be written to the USB Drive, you’re completely protected from infections spreading to your disk from your computer.

Now your pen drive is protected on that shared system but i still recommend you to use a quality anitvirus software updated regularly as your system contains more important data than a pen drive.

Why we should not use Apple iPhone 3G

When this much hyped 3G iPhone was launched few days ago blogosphere just got mad about this apple product.Almost everybody wrote about it.Almost every blogger was telling its readers that why they should use apple iPhone even though most of them haven't seen that new version.Well on the paper iPhone is great product,it is cheap,looks nice,easy to use and so many things but it also have few reasons which when user comes to know after buying the iPhone,frustrates the user.

I am not writing this because apple fired me or something like that (i am still a student) but because a user should know the demerits of the product before actually buying it.So here is what we get from users review.

1.No MMS: Still there is no support for Multimedia Messaging Service through which users can easily send/receive photos and other media files. The only way to send and receive media files in iPhone is through e-mails which is not as simple as MMS.

2.Poor Camera: The 2 megapixel camera introduced in the first version of iPhone is left unchanged. Most of the other smart phones have at least 3 megapixels.

3.No Video Call Support – The much hoped front-facing camera for video calls is not available in the new release.

4.Missing Cut, Copy & Paste – Every smart phone’s must to have features are basic cut, copy & paste. Apple failed to add these features to the new phone.

5.Adobe Flash – The Safari web browser used in the iPhone does not have Adobe Flash support. So none of the flash enabled web sites can be viewed on iPhone

6.Other- The other disappointments include no Video Recording Support, lack of landscape oriented keyboard, week Bluetooth support.

This phone still has some features that appeals a lot but what i mean to say is that don't go blind for any product just because every second person on net is writing or talking about it. Just compare and analyse it and then make a choice.

Some time earlier we talked about the conversion of PDf files in to Word,HTML documents.If you have to extract some data from PDF files then you can also do this by first converting them into Word or HTML files after that is very easy,simple copy paste.But if you are interested in extracting text from PDF files directly,without converting them in to another format.Then PDFtextonline a online free utility that extracts text from PDF files directly.

I tried it,it worked fine for me.But when i tried this for for password protected PDF documents then it displays this message.

So they do have a application that works for encrypted/password protected PDF documents.

Places on Internet where you can ask questions & get personalized answers

Generally when we have a query then first of all we Google it.Afterwards Google results and our selection of keywords that are used in search,determine what is going to be the fate of our query.This is not always when you get exact answer of our query by just searching it over multiple search engines.A novice on Internet might not find exact answer of his question, if he doesn't know how to perform use full search on Internet.

For this kind of problem Internet has knowledge base systems.Here these question answer services allows user to ask questions which are either answered by their own experts or by other users.Most of the time user gets personalized answers of his queries.Here is the list & review of those question and answer services.

1.Yahoo answers:Well i thought that most of you had tried it before if not even then you must be aware of this Yahoo service.Yahoo Answers is a place where you can ask and answer questions. And unlike many other similar services and forums, things happen extremely fast here. Most of the questions receive multiple replies within a one day of posting. It is like free consulting service.

Question posting process is quite simple, you only need is to select right category and specify how long it will stay open. Once this period is over best answer is chosen. Each posted question goes through 3 stages; open(still needs an answer), undecided(multiple answers are given and users are asked to vote for the best one) and resolved(best answer has been chosen).

2.Answer bag:yet another cool, well-trafficked Q&A community. Additionally to standard feature set provides an option to quickly rate (+/-) questions in order to make interesting ones standout. Higher rated questions, receive more attention and tend to get multiple replies in extremely short period of time, sometimes within the first 5-10 minutes after it has been posted.

3.QnA live:
QnA live is based on the user-activity it seems to be less popular than the above two, although as it originates from Live.com, the network still ensures decent amount of daily users. Doesn’t provide that many features but incorporates couple of most needed ones, i.e., RSS support for each question to easily follow-up on replies via feedreader AND an option to tag questions and browse them by tags (by category or popularity).

4.wiki answers:Wiki Answers, previously known as FAQ Farm, was acquired by Answers Corporation in November 2006 and integrated as the user generated content (UGC) component of Answers. com , an answer engine containing content on over 4 million diverse topics.

Wiki Answers is based on a customized version of MediaWiki called "Wiki FAQs" and is run as an online question and answer (Q&A) community.The site content is created by its users, where visitors share what they know and ask about what they don't. This in turn creates wiki Q&As.

5.Askville:
Askville is a user-driven research site founded by Amazon.com and opened to the public on December 8, 2006.Unlike the defunct Google Answers service, Askville is designed to run much like a computer game. Users gain or lose "experience points" in particular topics as they answer questions in those topics, depending on how good their answer is. Users also receive "quest gold" by asking and answering questions, and by voting on the worth of other people's answers.The user can then use these coins as rewards, either to obtain more coins or to exert voting influence on the answers.

6.Quamut:

Quamut is a collection of how-to guides launched in March 2008 by the bookstore chain Barnes & Noble. The core line of guides are all editorially written but there is also a section of user- contributed wiki guides. Quamut is the Latin for how-to and is pronounced kwómut.

Freeware for finding Boot time of windows xp and vista

There are many software and tricks which claims that they can reduce boot time of your operating system and you install them or apply them but if the difference created by them is very less then you can't judge them just become you don't have any method to judge their output.

Now don't worry we have come across Boot Timer which is a small freeware utility which can help you to find out the total time taken for booting Windows OS. Download the utility and run the executable file. After installation this utility will ask permission to reboot so that it can calculate booting time.

After the booting of windows in completed,it will show you the time taken during this whole process. So you can either compare your booting time after installing a new software or can use it for detecting even a very small change in booting time by any trick or utility.

Note:This utility does not consider the time taken to go through BIOS or BIOS bootup password. It takes the time from the instant BIOS starts loading Windows.

Tech buzz is now JaysTech.com

Yes,we have moved.Now we have a domain name jaystech.com but we are still a blogger hosted blog.As many of you might be aware that blogger provide the facility to use custom domain which can be purchased from Google itself (or from anywhere else on internet ) by the use of Google apps and Godaddy collaboration.

Blogger will continue to redirect our old domain techinnews.blogspot.com to our new domain jaysTech.com.So users can access blog content from both the address but still we recommend to use jaysTech.com.Some of the readers asked about the change in name, why i didn't go for techbuzz.com or techinnews.com since we have used both names for more than 1 and half years.I would like to tell all of them that first of all i tried to go for these names only but both of them were registered on almost each domain.

After this i tried many,many(and many) names but almost each of them were registered or parked.Manoj from liveindya sugested this name jaysTech.com and i aggreed on this.Some time later in this year we are planning to move on wordpress hosted site but presently i have decided to stay on blogger.This delay will provide time to users to catch up with this new name jaysTech.com and because of this we are not going to loose any subscriber or reader since they are also redirected to our new address.

As i told you that i have purchased jaysTech.com from Google ,so Google has provided me some nice facilities like email service at our own domain name like id@jaysTech.com which can be accessed from mail.jaysTech.com.This emails are on Gmail server means we will get full access to gmail facilities and security with somewhat 6-7 Gb free space that Gmail is presently offering.

Now i have decided to provide this facility to our users also.Readers who want email addesses at their own name like name@jaystech.com which they were unable to recieve on any other email service just because somebody has already created that with their names on that service provider or whatever ,can mail me at my new address jay@jaysTech.com to receive their own name Gmail ids on Jaystech.com.I will provide these id to first 50 readers since i have limited ids.
