2. LastPass - I used to use KeePass, but I just like LastPass better. It did a great job of importing (and then removing) my Firefox stored passwords, and its secure password creation tool makes using different passwords on new sites a snap. The web interface is a great way to manage my logins and groups.

3. FEBE - As with anything else on your computer, it's never a bad idea to back up your Firefox install. FEBE will back up everything - extensions, themes, bookmarks - or just what you choose, and you can set up an automated schedule. It's also got integrated Box.net support, which is actually a fairly nice way to roll-you-rown manual Firefox syncing.

4. AdBlock Plus:- I don't really use AdBlock because I hate advertisements, but because I don't like waiting for web pages to load. Flash ads and multiple banners really gum up the works, so I depend on AdBlock to keep things running smoothly. It's also a decent way to cut back on your bandwidth usage.

5. DownThemAll - When a friend first showed me DTA a few years ago, I couldn't believe I was still just using FF2's built-in manager. DTA rocks, and ofcourse it is in my list of Top 10 free download managers . It's simply one of the best download managers out there.

6. OpenItOnline - I don't do enough work with Office-type documents anymore to warrant installing a suite on my laptop. OpenItOnline lets me send DOC, XLS, and all the other supported file types to ZohoViewer for perusal instead of downloading them. It supports all Zoho and Google Docs apps to open files.

7. Deng Google Bookmarks - I'm not sold on Weave yet, so for now I let Google store my bookmarks. I switched to the Deng addon after using GMarks for the longest time - because I got tired of the giant "bookmark" button on my toolbar. Deng displays only a small star icon, and its management interface is superior and you must know how to stop appearing bookmarks in firefox address bar.

8. Screengrab! - To quickly capture an entire web page, Screengrab is a great tool. It can save or copy an entire page, the visible portion, or a rectangular selection. If I don't actually need to print a page, Screengrab is an easy, environmentally friendly way for me to keep a copy of it.

9. Web Of Trust - Web Of Trust is a great way to keep yourself out of malware trouble. I think I'm a pretty responsible surfer, but I don't know the reputation of every site on the Internet. How to stop firefox bookmarks appearing in address bar

Firefox 3 has a feature of showing bookmarks in address bar suggestions while typing any web address.For me its quite annoying because while typing in address bar i only want suggestions form my web history ( or the addresses that i have previously typed) not from bookmarks and most of us prefer to get suggestion only from their web history because they used to surf those websites more frequently. I searched Google for how can i prevent my Firefox web browser to show bookmarks as suggestions. I found few methods for it.

If you do not want to try these geeky stuff then you can try update
section at the end of this post.That will save your time and gray cells.

First: See only those web addresses that you have typed

This method will allow you to see only those addresses as suggestion in address bar which you have previously typed not your bookmarks.For doing this follow these steps.

Open firefox and type "about:config" in address bat without quotes and set the value of browser.urlbar.matchonlytyped to True. Now none of the entries from your browser history or bookmarks will appear in the your Mozilla Firefox address bar.

Second: Completely disable autocomplete drop-down for address bar

This method will allow you to complete remove any kind of website suggestion for Firefox address bar.No bookmark suggestion ,no previously typed address suggestion.

Open the about:config page and set the value of browser.urlbar.maxRichResults as –1. Restart Firefox and your Firefox 3 address bar will behave just like that of Firefox 2.

Third: Completely remove Bookmarks from Firefox Address Bar

This is final and most suitable option that uses Firefox frecency score technique to stop firefox bookmarks to appear in address bar suggestions.Actually Firefox 3 uses the Frecency score to determine sites that should appear in the drop-down. We can set frecency value for bookmarks to zero and thus they won’t appear in the location bar.

Open the about:config page, and set value of places.frecency.unvisitedBookmarkBonus and places.frecency.bookmarkVisitBonus to zero.

Setting places.frecency.unvisitedBookmarkBonus to 0 will prevent bookmarks from appearing that you have never visited while places.frecency.bookmarkVisitBonus will prevent display of bookmarks that you have visited since the last time you cleared private data in Firefox.

Restart your Firefox after that anything that has a frecency value of zero doesn not show up in autocomplete results and thus your bookmarks won’t turn in the suggestions anymore.

Keyboard shortcuts have always been usefull.They save precious time and makes our working more and more dynamic.Here is the list of some important Mozilla Firefox keyboard shortcuts.

1: Automatically add .com,.org and .net to addresses

Most of us know that if we type ‘sitename’ in the address bar and press Ctrl+Enter it directly goes to www.sitename.com . But what about .org and .net addresses? In Firefox , Shift+Enter takes you to www.sitename.net and Ctrl+Shift+Enter takes you to www.sitename.org addresses automatically . So if you wanna go to Jaystech , just type the word in firefox address bar and press Ctrl+Enter .

2.Open new page or reopen last closed tab:

Ctrl+T helps you to open a new tab and Ctrl+Shift+T reopens the last closed tab.This comes quite handy in case you accidentally close a tab. Another way to do this would be go to History -> Recently closed tabs.

3.navigate directly to the browser address bar:: Press ALT+D

4.Alt+Enter

This can be an extremely useful shortcut. It automatically opens a website in another tab when you highlight it in the autocomplete list. For example you want to go to Facebook and you start typing www.face…, in the address bar and it starts showing the list below. You just need to use the down arrow key to highlight the selection (facebook.com in this case ) and press Alt+Enter so that it opens in a new tab.

5. Spacebar and Shift+Spacebar OR PageDown and PageUp

Spacebar or PageDown key scrolls down the webpage you’re on and Shift+Spacebar or PageUp scrolls up the webpage you’re on .

6.Switch to another opened tab

Ctrl+tab can help you navigate alternate tabs but if you are a heavy tab user like me and want to go to a specific tab then just use Ctrl+corresponding tab number,Ctrl+[1,2....9]. Ex:To go to the 3rd tab use Ctrl+3 .

7.The Middle Mouse Button

This is not a keyboard shortcut but it is an excellent shortcut . Just point to a link anywhere on a webpage and press the middle mouse(scroll) button . It opens the page in a new tab .

8.Add bookmark:Press ctrl+d

9.Close a tab or window:

Use ctrl+w to close tab or window if one one tab is open and more importantly you can use middle mouse button to close a tab.Just click on the tab with middle mouse button to close it.

How to speed up Firefox without reinstalling it

For past few days my Firefox is running slow.Not only it is slow, my Firefox sometimes hangs for no reason, consumes a large amount of memory and CPU usage can climb up to 90% or more when you have multiple tabs open simultaneously.To avoid this i uninstalled most of the extensions and toolbars, deleted all the cookies and internet temporary files, cleared up the file download queue and disabled the background check for software updates, but none of this has helped me speed-up Firefox.

After goggling it,I found some tips for it.I found that this is a common problem especially if you have been running Firefox for some time, I don't know why Firefox slows down but here's a small trick to rejuvenate the aged copy of Firefox without doing a fresh install.

1.First of all take the backup of all your Firefox bookmarks (Go to bookmarks->Organize bookmarks ->import and backup->backup)

2.Now go to run and

3.Now you will see a windows "Firefox-Choose user profile" ,here click the Create Profile button without making any modifications to your existing profile (which is normally called "default")

4.Now you can use Firefox with original speed but with blank bookmarks so first of all import all of your books by using the same procedure.

How to use any Firefox 2.x extension on Firefox 3.0

After the much awaited launch of Firefox 3.0 it was quite frustrating to see that many popular Firefox extensions were not working on Firefox 3.0.Even Google toolbar was not working on Firefox's latest version.Though these extension are undergoing some modifications very rapidly so that Firefox 3.0 users can use them.

But you don't have to wait for the modification of your Firefox 2.x extension,you can yourself modify these extensions very easily and then you can use them on Firefox 3.0.

Here are the steps you need to follow for this modification:
1. Download the .xpi file of the extension (You have to use any web browser other than firefox for this)
2. Rename the downloaded file .zip from the .xpi
3. Now open the new zip file using WinZip / WinRar or any other file compression software.
4. Inside the zip - Open the install.rdf in edit mode
5. Locate and Replace 2.0.0.* by 3.* in Mozilla Firefox section.
6. Save the .rdf file and rename zip archive back to .xpi
7. Now Install the extension.(Double click the .xpi file and open in Firefox)

Now you have modified your desired Firefox 2.x extension for Firefox 3.0.

How to start your web browser without addons

If your recently installed add on is causing the improper behavior of your Web browser then it is better to use your web browser with out add ons.By this way you can find out whether the problem lies in the add on or any other thing was responsible for that improper behavior of your web browser and most important thing about add ons is this that you should avoid add ons while performing online transaction.

Here is the method of using web browsers without add ons.

5:Becky! is a fantastic, well thought out windows email client. It is smart throughout, making your emailing experience faster and enjoyable. Its somewhat fanatical followers are a good sign that once you try it it is not easy to let it go. You can create multiple mailboxes, of course. Moreover, you can create multiple “profiles” for each mailbox. This feature is especially useful if you use laptop computer. You can switch between several different settings, like “LAN” and dial up, for the same mailbox. You can write HTML e-mail with Becky!. If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer ver5 or higher installed, Becky! is a complete HTML enabled e-mail client. “Plug-In” Interface enables third parties to create useful plug-ins to customize Becky! for your particular needs. Actually, Becky!’s voice message and PGP functionality are the plug-ins.
