Your article are property of Google if published by using Google Chrome

Yes it is true.If you published any article on internet either on your blog or any where else using Google's new web browser Google Chrome, then your article is also the property of Google according to Chromes EULA i.e. end-user license agreements. It states that posting anything via Google Chrome gives Google the right to your content. Here is the Google's word.

11. Content license from you

11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the Services and may be revoked for certain Services as defined in the Additional Terms of those Services.

11.2 You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.

11.3 You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this license shall permit Google to take these actions.

11.4 You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above license.

It does not seems appropriate and it also gives a chance to speak to all the person who blames Google for collecting private information via its each method possible like search, mail, blog, adsense, adwords, analytics almost each service of Google is blamed for this kind of activity and now this. This condition won't last long as people will definitely raise their voice against this so till then avoid Google chrome for publishing content on web.

UPDATE:Google has fliped back on this sensitive issue. Now they say
11. Content license from you

11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services.

So this is a good news but this leaves a patch on Google's intentions

What is difference between freeware, free software & open source

Most computer users usually do not know the difference in Freeware, free software ,shareware and open source softwares. There is a lot of difference in all these terms. After studying a lot of websites I found some real good facts that I am sharing with you.

Freeware: Freeware software’s are available to use with no cost. Proprietary software’s can also be freeware software. Freeware software’s are generally used by companies to help developers, students and communities to develop software skills while using this freeware software, but not to loose their business potential software companies don’t give the source code of the software’s. Freeware software is different from shareware software.

Shareware:Shareware software’s are used for marketing purpose. Computer users can download and use a limited version of software or full version of software for a limited period of time. We can say that Shareware software is just like “Try before you buy”.

Freeware generally refers to software that is copyrighted and the term shareware refers to commercial software that is copyrighted, but which may be copied for others for the purpose of their trying it out with the understanding that they will pay for it if they continue to use it.

Free Software: Free software can be used, modified and studied without any restriction. Free software can be copied and distributed with or without any modifications. A software is free when the end user get’s full software with the human readable form of the program called as source code with above permissions. Free Software Foundation maintains the definition of free software.

Open Source: Open source software can be defined as computer software for which the source code of the software is available under a copyright that must meet the open source definition.
There can be different open source copyright laws enforced by different software vendors.

Hope this clears the difference between all of them.

Keep your passwords safe and encrypted by Keepass

Today you need to remember many passwords. You need a password for the Windows network logon, your e-mail account, your homepage's ftp password, online passwords (like CodeProject member account), etc. etc. The list is endless. Also, you should use different passwords for each account. Because if you use only one password everywhere and someone gets this password you have a problem... A serious problem. The thief would have access to your e-mail account, homepage, etc. Unimaginable.

KeePass is a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish).

Key features of KeePass password manager utility are:

  • Strong Security - KeePass supports the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES, Rijndael) and the Twofish algorithms to encrypt its password databases. The complete database is encrypted, not only the password fields. So your usernames, notes, etc. are protected, too.
  • Multiple User Keys - One master password decrypts the complete database. Alternatively you can use key files. Key files provide better security than master passwords in most cases. You only have to carry the key file with you.
  • Portable - KeePass is portable; it can be carried on an USB stick and runs on Windows systems without being installed.
  • Export - The password list can be exported to various formats like TXT, HTML, XML and CSV.
  • Password Groups - You can create, modify and delete groups and subgroups, in which passwords can be sorted into.
  • Searching and Sorting - You can search for specific entries in the databases.

Why would schools want to block wikipedia?

This might be an interesting question for general Internet user because most of us consider Wikipedia as a source of knowledge. So it is not a bad thing (according to schools too, like My space ,Orkut or any other social networking site and neither it consumes a lot of band width like Skype, Youtube etc.) to deal with even then ,why would school like to block Wikipedia.

Unfortunately the answer lies in the nature of Wikipedia itself means Anybody can edit or modify the content of any article of Wikipedia which makes it more unreliable and schools would not like that students gain knowledge from an unreliable source.

This might lead them to confusion and make a teachers job more complex as we all know about the nature of students who are confused on a particular topic.

Schools have taken this issue seriously and they advise students not to relay entirely on wikipedia for the study purpose and even Wikipedia co-founder stated once that they got nearly 10-15 emails a week about the students whose project or assignment was rejected of failed because of the information taken from Wikipedia so even Co-founder of Wikipedia advised students not to use Wikipedia for study purpose.

Today Gtalk is among the most widely used software for chatting over Internet. On Google network you can chat on Google Gtalk or in Gmail etc. But do you know whatever you are chatting over Internet is saved by Google automatically.

There might be a case when you don't want to allow Google to save these scripts automatically. Then you have to go to chat settings in Gtalk or Gmail there is an option by which you allow Google to save them or not.

What if you don't want to save a particular chat script while your Chat saving feature is enabled.
Then for this Google has provided you facility called OFF the record. It means when this feature is enabled then Google is not saving your chat scripts .

Why we keep using costly windows products when we have free open source linux

It is among the most hot topic in blogosphere as many of us might feel surprised why people keep using costly windows products rather than using free open source linux.

I just debated about in a circle and come to know that some of them were saying that as people are using Windows product from a long time so they are well adjusted with it and don't want a change some of them said they are common ,help is easily available, common purpose ,developed for all, every type of software can be run on it etc etc.......

They seems to be reasonable like some one said that Open source operating systems are usually not as good as the others, because actual users and not paid professional programming teams are building these. They usually stay in BETA mode as they are continually modified. They also are NOT compatible with many of todays popularly used software titles. With some of the least amount of users using these open source operating systems, they are targeted less by hackers and virus writers, so they may be safer in that regard.

while some one else stated reasons as Compatibility with the large number of other Windows users,Availability of technical support from Microsoft as opposed to hit-and-miss support in open source projects,It has the features we want,It is a known commodity and therefore there are fewer surprises,Cost of ownership is lower,Ongoing innovation,There is a staff of people paid to continue to develop the products. You're not dependent on volunteers who come and go,Convenient packaging, availability, ease of installation etc.

So i think it was good enough to be called as a conclusive debate though it was not mainly a core technical debate but you might got the answer.
