Search icons by top 4 icon search engines

We usually use Google or Yahoo (or whatever you like) search engine for searching normal stuff like searching any content,information,event,site,product but if we have to search images,torrent files,cracks,mp3,keygen etc. then we use specialized search engines dedicated to these item.But i am sure most of you still use Google or Yahoo for searching icons over internet.Shouldn't you use specialized search engine for searching icons.Yes we have search engine which are dedicated for searching icons over internet.

1.Iconfinder.net: This is one of the best Icon search engines available on the net currently. Its Ajax navigation makes it a breeze to find new icons. Each icon in the search results carries its tags, download link and License information. No need to scroll through pages to get download the icon, hit the download icon and the icon will be downloaded. Most of the icons are pretty and can be used in modern or web 2.0 designs.


2.Iconlet.com: This is another search engine for icons, it also works well. Here you will get lot more icons to download but the results are not very well categoriesd, you will find unrelated icons grouped for certain keywords. the icons look old fashioned and not pretty. Lists the license information on a different page.


3.Iconlook.com: This is a new entrant in this space, lists many icons. Most of the icons are good can be used for modern web design. Icons search results show the icon size, but to get the license and download information you need to go to the icon page.


4.Searchicon.net: Searchicon has lot of inventory but again the search results contain unrelated items for certain keywords. It shows download, tags and license information but somehow these are not working.

Get hard drive icon like VISTA

When it comes to graphic feature,then Vista is more ahead of any windows product like windows XP etc.Now we are talking about the Drive icon in Vista.This icon is very different from that of Xp.

It shows the memory space remaining in that particular drive also.Overall very nice icon.
So do you want to add this feature in you Windows xp.

Then here is the software for you that will enable you to make drive icon's like vista.
This task can be performed for previous version of windows operating systems like 98/Xp etc.

Bring back the deleted Showdesktop icon in quick launch menu bar

Do you ever feel the need of retrival of show desktop icon in the quick launch menu bar after you removed it intentionally or unintentionally by mistake.

Now you dont need to worry about it.there is a method which will bring it back once it is deleted.Here is the one for which you have to create a notepad file named Showdesktop.scf and then type the following text in it.

[shell]
command=2
Iconfile=explorer.exe,3
[taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

and remember that there should be no space in between these characters.

Then after createing this file save with this file with the name ShowDesktop.scf. After this drag this file to the quick launch menu bar.your work is done.

This methods works in vista also though Surprisingly icon which appears on retrival
looks good in XP than vista.Actually this is partially true when i first tried this icon was a blank
white square but on second attempt this looks good as shown in the pic above.
