Why we keep using costly windows products when we have free open source linux

It is among the most hot topic in blogosphere as many of us might feel surprised why people keep using costly windows products rather than using free open source linux.

I just debated about in a circle and come to know that some of them were saying that as people are using Windows product from a long time so they are well adjusted with it and don't want a change some of them said they are common ,help is easily available,common purpose ,developed for all,every type of software can be run on it etc etc.......

They seems to be reasonable like some one said that Open source operating systems are usually not as good as the others, because actual users and not paid professional programming teams are building these. They usually stay in BETA mode as they are continually modified. They also are NOT compatible with many of todays popularly used software titles. With some of the least amount of users using these open source operating systems, they are targeted less by hackers and virus writers, so they may be safer in that regard.

while some one else stated reasons as Compatibility with the large number of other Windows users,Availability of technical support from Microsoft as opposed to hit-and-miss support in open source projects,It has the features we want,It is a known commodity and therefore there are fewer surprises,Cost of ownership is lower,Ongoing innovation,There is a staff of people paid to continue to develop the products. You're not dependent on volunteers who come and go,Convenient packaging, availability, ease of installation etc.
