How to Enable/Disable folder options in windows xp

Almost every user have some files and folders which he doesn't want to share, for this some of them use hide option in window, while some other use third party softwares to hide them.We can't say about third party softwares but hiding files and folders in Xp by using inbuilt hide option is quite risky means anybody can enable show hide files and folder from folder options and then there is a possibility that these files and folders can be accessed.

But what if you remove folder options from Tools like this :

Seems good but how will you do this.Few days ago there was a virus in my system which did this job for me but anybody would not like to get infected with a virus for this.Ok so we have a trick for this.

Go to run enter gpedit.msc to open group policy settings.

then user configuration-->administrative templates -->windows component-->windows explorer and then just select "remove the folder option menu item from the tools menu"

and enable it.

You have removed the folder option from the tool menu.

I have tried this with Windows XP pro, and I'm not sure whether this will work with other XP variants.

Removing the "Folder Options" menu involves modifying the Windows Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc).
