One more time Google has defeated Microsoft. This time the issue was related to the third party desktop search system in windows Vista.
Google complained to the US justice department over this issue in the April this year but officials initially ignored this issue but now officials found it the violation of the rules. As we all know microsoft has been fined for this type of work several times even by EU.
But this time, microsoft doesn't took more time and now Microsoft has agreed to change how Vista does its desktop search in response to that complaint by Google.Vista users will now be able to pick a default search program to comb through their hard drive files. Users can also display an alternative search program in Vista’s Start Menu.
So this is a good news for the google desktop search fans they will be able to use their favorite search but according to Google, the operating system’s integrated search creates a constant drag on other search programs – essentially both search programs are competing for the some hard drive.
Now microsoft officials said that changes are expected to be made in the first service pack of vista that will be launched later this year.
