Recently Google changed their favicon from capital G to small g,those who knows Google was surprised about this because Google haven't changed that for the past six years. They will be more surprised when they will come to know that this change is not permanent.Actually Google has developed a set of favicons that it is intended to use in near future like it uses it's homepage Doodles.
Marissa Mayer explains on the Google Blog:
The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices. So the new favicon is one of those, but we’ve also developed a group of logo-based icons that all hang together as a unified set.
Google has evolved as a hot favorite topic for the bloggers that even a change in its favicon becomes a hot issue for the bloggers to write.Bloggers just wait for a sign from the Google and write about it and even if Google doesn't do anything (?) they will also write why Google has not done special for last so many days.
Above are some of the different candidates out of the hundreds that Google tried out. And below are the current five.
